Subject: UPDATE: Details about Local KXL Pledge of Resistance Sit In

Here's a message from a host of your Local KXL Pledge of Resistance Sit In event:

APRIL 11TH: FILM - BIDDER 70

The film Bidder 70 will be shown at Wallingford Meaningful Movies at 7 pm on April 11th. BIDDER 70 centers on an extraordinary, ingenious and effective act of civil disobedience demanding government and industry accountability. In 2008 Tim DeChristopher disrupted a highly disputed Utah BLM Oil and Gas lease auction, effectively safeguarding thousands of acres of pristine Utah land that were slated for oil and gas leases. Not content to merely protest outside, Tim entered the auction hall and registered as bidder #70. He outbid industry giants on land parcels winning 22,000 acres of land worth $1.7 million before the auction was halted. More details at http://www.meaningfulmovies.org/images/Flyers/Emailer.pdf.

After the film (which is moving and inspiring), Lynn Fitzhugh from 350 Seattle will lead discussion about local climate change campaigns and how to get involved with the Seattle Pledge of Resistance.

APRIL 12TH: NONVIOLENT CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE TRAINING

Announcing another training date for those that still have not been able to be trained:

Saturday April 12th - Training at Plymouth Church, 1217 6th Ave, from 10 am-3:30 pm.

This is a free non-violent direct action training for those preparing to commit peaceful, dignified civil-disobedience at the Seattle Pledge of Resistance sit-in. President Obama will make a decision soon. We need people who are willing to risk arrest, and also people who will not risk arrest, but will witness and support those risking arrest.

To participate in the action (as risking arrest or as support), you must attend a training. Please join us on Saturday April 12 from 10 am to 3:30 pm. You should plan to attend the whole time. If that isn't possible, please still sign up and contact your local leader.

Register for the training here: http://act.credoaction.com/event/pledge_trainings_attend/3499?akid=.608352.qkI-j1
